How much filament is left?
Pop the spool on your kitchen scales and pick the filament. The calculator takes off the empty spool's weight and tells you what's left, in grams and roughly how many metres.
How much filament is left on your spool?
Pick your filament, then weigh the spool.
Enter the empty spool weight and what the spool weighs now.
That is less than the empty spool. Check both weights.

How it works
How to check how much filament is left
- Take the spool off the printer and weigh it on a kitchen or postal scale, in grams.
- Pick your filament and spool size in the calculator. It fills in the empty spool weight for you.
- Enter what the spool weighs now. The rest is filament.
Kitchen scales are usually accurate to a gram or two, which is plenty: a metre of 1.75 mm PLA weighs about 3 g. Spools vary slightly between batches, so leave a margin before starting a long print.
