Layer Lookup doesn't set any cookies, and there are no advertising or social media trackers on the site. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies either, and you can turn it off below.
What we store on your device
Only choices you make. If you use the theme button to choose light or dark mode, or turn analytics off, your browser remembers that in its local storage so it applies on every visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The site follows your device's light or dark setting by default, and nothing is stored unless you pick a theme. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we can store a preference you've asked for, such as how the site looks, without your consent, as long as you can easily opt out.

Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are useful, how people find them and how fast they load, so we can improve the site. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and doesn't track you across other websites. When a page loads, a small script reads basic details such as the page address, your browser type and how quickly the page loaded, and sends them to Cloudflare, which removes your IP address and only gives us totals. We don't use it for advertising.
Under PECR, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, this kind of analytics, used only for statistics to improve our own site, doesn't need your consent as long as we explain it and you can easily say no. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a no and the analytics never load.
