About Layer Lookup

Layer Lookup helps makers in the UK choose 3D printing filament. It puts the specs, colours, spool weights and print settings of thousands of filaments side by side, so you can compare materials and brands, find a colour you like, or match one you already have from another brand.

Where the data comes from

Filament details come from two open, community-maintained databases: the Open Filament Database and SpoolmanDB. Colours are shown from the hex codes in that data, so they are a guide rather than an exact match for the spool in your hand. See the credits for the sources and their licences.

Independence

Layer Lookup is independent. It isn't owned by, affiliated with or endorsed by any filament brand or retailer, and brands can't pay to change where they appear. Brand names and logos are used only to identify their products.

Spotted a mistake?

If a spec, colour or spool weight looks wrong, let us know. Where we can, we send fixes back to the open databases so everyone who uses them benefits.
